Spiked Apple Cider

A boozy take on the classic apple cider. Can be served warm or chilled.

Supplies:

Cocktail Shaker (if serving chilled)
Hawthorne strainer (if strainer not built into shaker)

Glassware:

Cocktail glass (chilled)
Coffee Mug (warm)

Ingredients:

Ice (if serving chilled)
1 1/2 oz. bourbon
1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
Apple Cider
Apple slice (thin) and/or Cinnamon stick (garnish)

Directions:

Warm:

Heat apple cider to desired temperature, leaving enough room in mug for remaining ingredients. Add the bourbon and sweet vermouth and then stir to mix evenly.

Chilled:

Combine apple cider, bourbon and sweet vermouth in cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake for 8-10 seconds.

Presentation:

Warm:

Float apple slice on top of warm drink, add cinnamon stick.

Cold:

Place apple slice at the bottom of the glass and add cinnamon stick. Add ice to glass then strain cocktail into glass.
